Gianni Oliveri

Attended the "Ottorino Respighi" school of music in Imperia, where he studied transverse flute with tutor Renzo Gnemmi.
In the 1970's he played flute, guitar, saxophone, and sang as lead singer in various bands.
In the late 1980's he joined "Il Complesso vocale Mercedes", in Sanremo that performed polyfonic vocal music from the period of The Renaissance to the 1900's.
In the summer of 1992 he performed with "The San Maurizio chorus", conducted by Giulio Plotino, with the symphonic orchestra of Sanremo, Mozart's Requiem in D minor, for the bicentenary anniversary of the composer's death. In 1995 he founded an amateur theatre company which received various awards.
In 1999 he founded Instabile Theatre Company with Livia Carli and as well as acting, started directing.

" Alf-ieri, oggi Vittorio" by P. Delfino in the role of Vittorio Alfieri
" In the open sea" by S. Mrozec the role of The Thin
" Scène a quatre" by E. Ionesco in the role of Monsieur Durand
" Tixi and Moxo a colourful adventure" a children's show by D. Veronese in the role of Moxo

Gianni has achieved nominations and awards both as director and as actor, and he received two national awards for "Best amateur actor" in Italy:

- November 2001- Sassello theatre award for " Best actor", in the role of The King in "Le roi se meurt" by E.Ionesco
- December 2001- National nomination F.I.T.A. in Rome for "Best play", for the staging of "Le roi se meurt" by E. Ionesco
- September 2002- Eurako award in Termini Imerese ( Palermo) for "Best actor", in the role of Him in "Lui & lei" by A. Nicolaj
- October 2002- The national festival of dramatic arts of Pesaro. Award received: "Best sets", for the staging of "Le roi se meurt" by E. Ionesco
- October 2002- National award F.I.T.A. in Bellaria for "Best actor", in the role of Him in "Lui & lei" by A. Nicolaj
- July 2004-  Albisola theatre award for "Best group performance" in "Beffe" from Decameron by G. Boccaccio
- October 2006- National award F.I.T.A. in Sorrento for "Best actor", in the role of Sganarello in "Le médecin malgré lui" by Molière
- October 2006- National nomination F.I.T.A.in Sorrento for "Best play", for the staging of "Le medecin malgré lui" by Molière
- July 2008- Award received "Best direction" for the staging of "Le medecin malgré lui" by Molière, Castelnuovo Magra (La Spezia)

In 2005 he performed in a part documentary part fiction, called "Liguria love story" from the novel "Il dottor Antonio" by G. Ruffini, director J. Liebhart.
In 2006 he received an award by a cultural association called "Consulta Ligure" for directing and staging a previously unpublished theatrical text "L'ustaria da funtanassa" by M.P. Ferrandini e C. Modena; the jury included the director V. Molinari and the producer A. Ricci.
In 2007 he performed in a short video, called " La dolce Eleonora e l'amaro calice" by M. Vallarino, director E. Audissino
In 2007 he performed "Press conference" by H. Pinter, with L.Carli, during the presentation of the book "The disappearance of the facts" by the journalist M. Travaglio; then he organized with L.Carli and the cultural association "Openly", artistic director S. Senardi, a manifestation called "Settembresettanta" with exhibitions, cinema, meetings, concerts and theatre.
Since 2007 he is a part time Drama teacher in local schools and Colleges.

Gianni is chairman of Instabile Theatre Company and vice chairman of the Italian federation of amateur theatre, in the Ligurian region.
